When Alyssa was a young girl she would go to visit her grandmother during the summer in Lubbock, Texas. Her grandmother, being a very busy woman, would send her to art classes at Texas Tech University during the day. From this early introduction to academic methods of painting, drawing, and sculpting, an artistic interest was born. Growing up on a ranch in Camp Verde, Texas, Alyssa was constantly surrounded by the beauty of nature and all it had to offer. More specifically, the colors it had to offer. Her early work reflected these scenes in landscapes and pastoral pictures. Later it evolved into a mixture of contemporary oil painting and traditional watercolors. It wasn’t until college that Alyssa thought seriously about her artwork as a means to make a living and became incredibly passionate about her work. She has a Bachelors degree in Art History from Texas Christian University and currently resides in Fort Worth.
